Court stops suspected albino abductor’s burial

The High Court in Lilongwe has granted an injunction to the Association of People with Albinism (APAM) restraining the burial of Buleya Luke who was one of the key suspects in the abduction of the 14-year-old boy with albinism in Dedza.

APAM says it wants an independent body to conduct postmortem to ascertain the cause of his death.

Buleya died on Thursday while in police custody just a day after he appeared before the Lilongwe Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

He was one of the six suspects in the abduction of Goodson Makanjira some weeks ago.

Lilongwe Police Public Relations Officer Kingsley Dandaula told YFM on Thursday that the suspect died while receiving treatment at Kamuzu Central Hospital.
