Millions of Malawians are waiting for official results of Tuesday’s fresh presidential poll as results continue to trickle in at the national tally centre in Blantyre.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) had received results from over 580 polling stations of the 5002 stations.

Since yesterday, unofficial results have been broadcasted on radio and also circulating on social media.

Earlier in the day, MEC Chairperson, Dr Chifundo Kachale appealed for patience among Malawians as vote counting continues.

Kachale added that the commission will stick to the 8-day period of announcing results.
