UDF’s Ndanga arrested over UTM office arson

Police on Thursday arrested United Democratic Front (UDF) spokesperson Ken Ndanga in connection with the torching of UTM party offices in Lilongwe which led to the deaths of three family members. 

In May 2020, thugs petrol bombed the office which was housing Seleman Tambala’s family.

The arson attack suspected to be politically motivated, also left three children seriously injured.

Deputy National Police Spokesperson Thomeck Nyaude confirmed the arrest of Ndanga but refused to comment more on the matter.

Police have also impounded four vehicle suspected to have been used during the attack.

Ndanga is the 5th person to be nabbed by the police in connection to the arson.
