CDEDI decries govt’s delay in hiring new parastatal boards

The Center for Democracy and Economic Initiative (CDEDI) has expressed concerns over delays by government to hire new board of directors for various parastatals.

CDEDI Executive Director Sylvester Namiwa said at press conference in Lilongwe on Wednesday that the development may lead to poor service delivery in government departments.

He alleged that the Tonse government is struggling to appoint the eligible persons due to large number of supporters from alliance partners who are demanding jobs.

Namiwa also accused the Tonse government of victimizing some Principal Secretaries in government for political reasons.
