Ministry under fire over lack of Covid-19 awareness

Renowned social commentator Lucky Mbewe has slammed the Ministry of Civic Education and National Unity for its laxity in raising awareness on crucial issues in the country.

Mbewe’s remarks comes after the ministry of civic education has not yet started sensitizing masses on Covid-19 vaccine to be administered in March.

He also said described the ministry as a dead wood saying it is wasting tax payer’s money since it not active on ground.

“The ministry is like a dead wood and I would rate it 3 out of 10 because it has not done anything,” Mbewe said.

He added that it is unfortunate that the the ministry is silent when it was supposed to be vibrant sensitizing people.

Mbewe has since urged president Lazarus Chakwera to look into the ministry.

Ministry of Civic Education and National Unity spokesperson Alick Kampeza said the ministry is yet to engage and liaise with the ministry of health on possible awareness campaigns for covid-19 vaccines yet to be administered in March.

Kampeza has since called for collaborative efforts among key stakeholders to yield maximum results as the vaccine will not be compulsory.
