ACB geared up to fight corruption

Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) says one of the objectives of the 2019 National Anti Corruption Strategy is to in still integrity in the citizenry of this country.

The remark was made during a sensitization workshop organized by the Bureau in Mzuzu with an aim of sensitizing the media on its role in the National Anti Corruption Strategy 2 launched in 2019.

Speaking to YFM, ACB spokesperson Egrita Ndala said building a society which is corrupt free is everyone’s responsibility

“One of the catalyst of corruption is not reporting corruption, there are some people who observe things and they say as long as its not affecting me personally  I don’t care but we need everyone to care,” said Ndala.

Commenting after the workshop one of the participants Allan Kumwenda described the sensitization workshop as an eye opener.

“Quite an insightful interaction that we have had, we have been sensitized on how we can approach stories that will expose corruption,” said Kumwenda

The Anti Corruption Bureau is implementing the National Anti Corruption Strategy 2 which was launched in 2019 by sensitizing all the 12 stakeholders in the fight against corruption such as the media as well as young people.
