Commotion in Phalombe over murder suspect

Police in Phalombe have arrested a man for allegedly murdering and burying his relation Gift Maulidi over K50,000.

There was a commotion in Migowi where angry mob flocked to Migowi police station to avenge the death of late Maulidi who was a Kabaza operator, a development that prompted police to fire teargas.

Phalombe police spokesperson Sergeant Innocent Moses failed to reveal particulars of the suspect who is also currently being accused of another murder case.

“The suspect borrowed K50,000 which was used as a surety at the High Court when the suspect was being granted bail,” he said.

The suspect however never bothered to pay back the money only to find Maulidi dead and half buried in some cemetery in the area.

This however did not go well with some community members who flocked to Migowi police station in Phalombe attempting to avenge the death.

“We fired the teargas to disperse the angry mob,” Moses added.

Meanwhile, police has asked people to refrain from taking laws in their hands.
