Malawi to receive Johnson & Johnson vaccine

The Ministry of Health has assured the citizenry that the effectiveness and safety of all types of vaccines that the country has recommended to administer is the same.

Malawi expects to receive 302,400 doses of Johnson and Johnson Covid-19 vaccine on Saturday, August 8, 2021.

In readiness for the inoculation, the Ministry of Health through Blantyre District Health Office organised a media orientation meeting to inform journalists on the new consignments of Covid-19 vaccine.

Spokesperson in the Ministry of Health, Adrian Chikumbe, said although Jonson and Jonson vaccine is administered once as compared to AstraZeneca which is recommended for two jabs, the effectiveness is the same.
