Blantyre City Council has engaged the Public Private Partnership Commission to find partners that will finance rehabilitation of recreation parks and camping centers in the city.

The project, which will be run under the Directorate of Leisure, Culture and Environmental Services will see the rehabilitation of Sunny- side Park, CI -Park and two dams of Chimwankhunda and Chiwembe.

Blantyre City Council Public Relations Officer Anthony Kasunda said the city has been having these recreation centers for long and they have though it to be wise to involve people in the private sector to help them in the developing and managing centers.

“People have been going to the parks for ages but for some time the parks were lacking ownership, that is why we have engaged the Public Private Partnership Commission to help us in finding companies who will come and develop these centers and look after them,” Kasunda said.
