Mulanje police ups efforts to curb illegal entry

Police in Mulanje have singled out uncharted routes as the main cause of illegal entry into the country.

This follows the increase in illegal entry cases in the district as evidenced by the increase in the arrest of foreign nationals in the country.

Speaking to YONECO FM online, after Muloza border police arrested 9 Mozambicans, Mulanje police publicist Gresham Ngwira said law enforcers in the district are geared to end the misconduct by carrying out frequent special operations.

“Our borders are porous and people capitalize on that to enter into the country,” he said.

Ngwira also reiterated calls for people in the district to be alert and report to authorities any suspicious individuals in their community.
