Mzuzu E-hub has embarked on sensitization campaign among the youths in the northern region on cyber bullying, cyber security and financial fraud risks arising from the use of mobile money services.

In an interview with YFM, Communications and Engagement Officer for Mzuzu E-hub Litness Chaima said they initiated the idea after noting that misuse of internet is a recurring challenge in the country.

“We thought of engaging youths in the northern region to ensure that they understand cyber space and promote online safety so that they protect themselves on the internet and make good use of internet,” Chaima said.

She further said through their meetings, they are making available laws and regulations guiding cyber security and online safety.

Furthermore, Chaima said they are sensitizing young people on proper use of mobile money to protect them from being the victims of financial fraud risks.

She finally said the initiative will reach out to many young people in other parts of Malawi virtually.
