MEGEN saddened with rising domestic violence against men

The association of Men for Gender Equality Now (MEGEN) says it is saddened with the increase in domestic violence by women against men in the country.

This follows two similar incidents, where a police-man from Salima and a man from Mangochi were burnt with hot water by their wives respectively.

Speaking to YFM online, MEGEN chairperson Marcel Chisi said its high time men should also start reporting cases of domestic violence they face since violence of any type is uncalled for and should be condemned.

“We have known violence in Malawi largely as being directed at females but now females are directing the violence at men. Any violence whether directed at men or women alike is condemned,” he said.
