British government has announced its approval of COVID-19 vaccine certificate issued by Malawi government.

This means that Malawi’s certificate has been added to the UK government’s list from November 22, 2021.

Commenting on the development, one of the country’s health experts, Dr Gama Bandawe, said this will instill hope and clear doubts some people had about the vaccine’s efficacy.

He said it will help to eliminate the worries and doubts people had on the vaccine.

“This is a good development to the country because some Malawians had doubts on the vaccines we are using just because it wasn’t certified by British government just like in other countries, so with this, all the worries have now been cleared,” he said.

He further said this has also highlighted the effectiveness of the system the country used to acquire the COVID-19 vaccine as it has now been recognised internationally.
