Govt asked to safeguard rights of epileptic patients

By Esnart Chingwalu

Health rights activist, Maziko Matemba has advised government to ensure provision of essential health care services to people with epilepsy.

This comes as Malawi joins the world in commemorating International Epilepsy Day which falls every 2nd Monday of February every year to promote awareness on epilepsy right around the world.

Matemba said government needs to gear up its efforts in ensuring that people with epilepsy are receiving the necessary care as most of the times they are neglected.

“The day should help people in the country as well as government to safeguard the rights of people with epilepsy in the country,” Matemba said.
