Met department warns of cyclone Gombe

The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services has warned the public to be vigilant to weather conditions in the areas that they are located following the development of tropical storm called Gombe which has been created on Indian Ocean.

Spokesperson for the department Yobu Kachiwanda told YFM that currently tropical storm Gombe is overland on Madagascar Island and is expected to enter Mozambique by Friday this week which is moving at a speed of 8km per hour .

“People are always reluctant to advice that our department issues about storms that have possibility to cause effects to our country which usually hits them at last,” Kachiwanda said.

The department said it will keep a watchful eye to the storm and provide the update of its movement and strength for the country to be aware.
