Two street connected children arrested for robbery

Police in Lilongwe have arrested two street connected children in connection to the robbery at Santa Plaza, Lilongwe Bridge and Crossroads Hotel on Thursday night.

According to Lilongwe Police Station Deputy Public Relations Officer, Sub Inspector Foster Benjamin, the duo, aged 16 and 17, was arrested on Friday March 11 after committing the crime on Thursday night.

Police have since recovered some of the items during the Friday arrest.

The recoveries include two laptops, three plasma screens, one desktop, four chairs and four solar panels.

Meanwhile, one apple laptop has been positively identified by its owner who is an Italian national.

The suspects will appear in court soon to answer charges of robbery and malicious damage.
