The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) says ballot papers for the 23 August by elections will arrive in the country on 19 August 2022.

According to an email from the director of media and public relations at MEC Sangwani Mwafulirwa , flight number EK9747/DWC-LLW which is carrying the ballot papers is expected to arrive at the Kamuzu International airport at 13:05hours on the said date.

MEC has since advised all representatives of candidates to arrive at the airport at least two hours before.
