Police recover stolen riffle

Police in Blantyre have recovered a riffle, K2C, which was stolen from a police officer by unknown criminals on July, 18, 2022 in Mapanga.

According to Limbe Police Station Public Relations Officer, Inspector Patrick Mussa, the weapon which the assailants robbed the police officer together with other items, was found hidden in a potato garden opposite Maone Park in Limbe.

“I can confirm that following intelligence gathered we have managed to recover the stolen riffle which was abandoned in a in the potato garden,” Mussa said.

He further said, meanwhile, the detectives have intensified their investigations in order to apprehend the assailants who are still at large.

Mussa appealed to the general public to bring fourth any information which may lead to the arrest of the suspects.

On July, 18, this year, the unknown criminals attacked a police officer in Mapanga area in Limbe and went away with his K2C riffle, eight rounds of ammunition, his camouflage attire, money, and a mobile phone.
