A 9-year-old girl has died after being attacked by a crocodile in Lake Malawi in Nkhotakota district.

Nkhotakota police spokesperson Paul Malimwe who identified the deceased as a Bridget Chule, said the incident occurred on October 25, 2022.

Malimwe said the girl went missing while she was out swimming with friends.

“Her friends reported the matter to the elders who instituted a search and found the body with a deep cut on the stomach, without both legs and right hand,” Malimwe added.

Bridget Chule was from Kajochi Village in the area of Traditional Authority Kalimanjira in Nkhotakota.
