2023 MSCE results out with 54.40 pass rate

The Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Malawi Nation Examinations Board (MANEB) has announced the release of the 2023 Malawi School Certificate of Education results which show a 4 percent pass rate decrease compared to last year.

Out of the 154, 132 candidates who sat for this year’s examination, 83,846 have passed, representing a pass rate of 54.40 percent.

Last year, out of the 147,977 candidates who sat for the exam, 86,477 passed, representing a 58.44% pass rate.

Out of 72, 056 female candidates that sat for this year’s examination, 34,721 have qualified for the award of the certificate, representing a 48.15 percent pass rate.

Out of 82, 076 male candidates that sat for the examination, 49,125 have passed, representing a 59.85 percent pass rate.
