Rose Kamera joined YONECO FM in 2015 as an intern from Chancellor college after finishing her Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy. She served as an intern for more than a year. During this period, she was given an opportunity to coordinate a special campaign on 19 days of activism for prevention of child abuse and violence among children and youth as well as support other project activities apart from having hands on experience on production and presentation of radio programs.
In 2017, she become a full employee of YONECO after being confirmed as a radio producer and presenter. In 2020, Rose was promoted to the positions of Deputy Station Manager and Program Support Manager (PSM).
Through her stay at YONECO, she has served a leadership role of coordinating a project called Every Woman Every Child social accountability funded by UNICEF. She has also attended in a number of professional courses which include; Documentation (UNICEF), Social behavioral change (USAID), Communication for Development (UNICEF), Post Disaster Needs Assessment (DODMA), leadership and entrepreneurship (Invest in Youth Initiative) and data entry using statistical package for social sciences (World Bank).
Rose is always inspired by people who live by their word for their stories live a mark in people’s life. This is her passion’s drive in striving to make a better world where Children, Youth and Women are happy and enjoy their rights just like men. A world where challenges and vulnerabilities turn into better testimonies and lessons for changing the status quo others especially on health issues.
Rose is now pursuing her Master’s Degree in Applied Ethics at the University of Malawi Chancellor College where she also did her Bachelors. She also holds a Diploma in Business Administration.
