Rodrick Mwale (Chief Producer)
Rodrick Jephter Mwale Joined YONECO in 2014 as Producer and Presenter. In 2015 Rodrick was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief Producer. He was then promoted to the position of Chief Producer in 2017.
Rodrick, obtained his Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) in 2008 at Mzuzu Government Secondary School. In 2013 he was awarded Diploma in Journalism from Polytechnic- Continuing Education Centre. (more…)
Rose Kamera (Deputy Station Manager)
Rose Kamera joined YONECO FM in 2015 as an intern from Chancellor college after finishing her Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy. She served as an intern for more than a year. During this period, she was given an opportunity to coordinate a special campaign on 19 days of activism for prevention of child abuse and violence among children and youth as well as support other project activities apart from having hands on experience on production and presentation of radio programs.
In 2017, she become a full employee of YONECO after being confirmed as a radio producer and presenter. In 2020, Rose was promoted to the positions of Deputy Station Manager and Program Support Manager (PSM).
Through her stay at YONECO, she has served a leadership role of coordinating a project called Every Woman Every Child social accountability funded by UNICEF. She has also attended in a number of professional courses which include; Documentation (UNICEF), Social behavioral change (USAID), Communication for Development (UNICEF), Post Disaster Needs Assessment (DODMA), leadership and entrepreneurship (Invest in Youth Initiative) and data entry using statistical package for social sciences (World Bank).
Rose is always inspired by people who live by their word for their stories live a mark in people’s life. This is her passion’s drive in striving to make a better world where Children, Youth and Women are happy and enjoy their rights just like men. A world where challenges and vulnerabilities turn into better testimonies and lessons for changing the status quo others especially on health issues.
Rose is now pursuing her Master’s Degree in Applied Ethics at the University of Malawi Chancellor College where she also did her Bachelors. She also holds a Diploma in Business Administration.
Mbanandi Saka (Deputy Chief Producer-Projects and Programs)
Mbanandi Saka Mahara Joined YONECO on 10 September 2015 as a reporter.
She is currently the Deputy Chief Producer Responsible for Projects and Programs and she is responsible for generation and review of YFM radio content. (more…)
Edwin Chulu (Deputy Chief Producer-Operations)
Edwin Chulu joined YONECO in 2014 as Producer and Presenter. In 2017, Edwin was promoted to the position of Deputy Chief Producer Responsible for Operations.
Edwin was also trained in Project Management and he coordinates two projects namely Enabling Girls to Advance Gender Equity (ENGAGE) a project that among other issues is against child marriages and Leveling the Field (LTF), a project that uses sports in spreading HIV and SRHR messages.
He has a Malawi School Certificate Of Education (MSCE) and a Diploma in Journalism from Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ). Edwin is currently pursuing a BA in Mass Communication at Share WORLD Open University.
He is very much passionate about promoting Sports for Development.
