Early Christmas at Lali Lubani

Addressing Esau Kanyenda as a veteran would be insulting to both the goal scoring machine and the Lali Lubani faithful but should the Black Mamba be called a newly born baby?

The scenario is as such on the ground as his number of goals scored surpasses the number of games he has featured for the three time Carlsberg Cup winners, who are at the summit of the TNM Super League, with only ten games remaining to wind up the season.

The striker who is enjoying a rich vein of form has scored a remarkable six goals since joining the title hopefuls at the start of the second round in September.

The Black Mamba, scored his first goal at Balaka Stadium in a meeting between the nomads and Kamuzu Barracks, a game that went in favour of the nomads.

Then followed Wanderers meeting with southern region based, Blantyre United, a game in which the nomads triumphed with two goals to nil with Kanyenda on the score sheet and so was Harry Nyirenda.

Kanyenda repeated his magic during Wanderers meeting with the Salima based soldiers, MAFCO in a two nil win.

Wagging tongues over the strikers’ prowess dominated the crush between Mighty Wanderers and Silver Strikers but history repeated itself for it only took 3 minutes for the striker to make a statement with a beautiful goal but unluckily, the game was won by the Lilongwe giants.

The former Polokwane City striker ensured that the nomads visit to the country’s capital was not in vain with a brace against Blue Eagles.

It is only October, with only ten games remaining to wind up the season, but the nomads are in a jovial mood considering Kanyenda’s stellar form which has been highlighted by one goal after another.

Undisputedly, Christmas comes early at Lali Lubani for Kanyenda has given them every reason to celebrate.
