Remotest areas yet to benefit from FISP

Some areas in the country have not yet received the agriculture materials under the 2017/2018 Farm Input Subsidy Program (FISP) as they are hard to reach.

This has been disclosed to YFM by the Spokesperson for the program, Osborn Tsoka, when asked about the progress of the program.

“Almost 70 percent of the beneficiaries have accessed the farm inputs but we have some few areas that are hard to reach and they haven’t yet received.”

Tsoka said “they have strategized to summon those companies who were selected to distribute the inputs to the affected areas to do so as soon as possible”.

He further added that the hard to reach areas that are yet to receive the inputs include Chididi in Nsanje, Nsambi in Neno and Misuku in Chitipa.

Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture announced that the coupon distribution exercise was completed across the country on November 2.
