Some Civil Society Organizations have given President Peter Mutharika a 20-day ultimatum to respond to their September 21, 2018 petition or face fresh demonstrations.

Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Chairperson Timothy Mtambo said they are disappointed that three months since they petitioned the government through nationwide demonstration a lot of issues have gone from bad to worse.

Among other issues which the CSO’s addressed in their petition include good governance, rising cases of corruption and the protection of people with albinism.
