Third placed, Civil Sporting of Area 9 in Lilongwe was brutally clobbered on Sunday by the defending TNM Champions, Nyasa Big Bullets 6-0 at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

Civil Sporting had enjoyed rich form in the opening three games they played by marinating 100 per cent winning record.

The next 24 hours, the dark cloud befallen the Area 9 outfit when they faced Bullets on a Sunday afternoon where they youthful side showcased what football is all about.

The six star displays by Bullets reduced Civil Sporting to mere amateurs of the game of football and they took control of the first 45 minutes where they banged in four goals.

The first goal by Bullets was scored in less than a minute through, upcoming and promising striker promoted from the reserve side, Hassan Kajoke.

Bullets Veteran striker, Chiukepo Msowoya added the second before young, Kajoke claimed his brace for the day and third for his team.

Bullets youthful left back, Previous Sambani planted in the fourth and his first for the Bullets after joining the team from Be Forward Wanderers at the beginning of the new season.

Bullets, Patrick Phiri made it fourth before half time and Civil Sporting goalkeeper, Blessings Kameza, formerly of Silver Strikers was heavily exposed due to poor marking of his defence.

Two substitutes for Bullets, Patrick Phiri who came for Kajoke and Righteous Banda who was introduced in to the game for Sambani, each scored the fifth and sixth respectively to welcome Civil Sporting to the real title battle of the season.

Despite bring in former Bullets striker into the game, Muhammad Sulumba things never worked out for them as he was tightly marked by Bullets Captain, John Lanjesi.

Civil’s top scorers, Isaac Msiska (three goals) and Lucky Mdeza (two goals) were no near to replicate their previous forms.

“We must admit that we have been beaten to a better side. This happens in a game of football and what is need for us is to get back to our drawing board and rectify our problems as we are looking for the next fixture,” Civil Sporting Coach, Franco Ndawa admitted at the end of the encounter.

He said Bullets players capitalized on their poor marking and this made the keeper to be left exposed to the attacking minded team which was hungry for goals especially in the first 45 minutes of the game.

Bullets Team Manager, James Chilapondwa commended his players for playing according to coach’s instructions during training.

He said Bullets expected a tough encounter against Civil as it has been in the past games and we planned well to ensure that they place a placing game in order not to allow them create any chances owing to their winning record.

With the two defeats they suffered over the weekend, Civil Sporting have dropping to position four with nine points from five games scoring eight goals conceding seven while Bullets have moved to second position with 10 points from four games.
