British Prime Minister critically ill with COVID-19

According to USA today, British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, was moved to an intensive care unit at a London hospital on Monday night after his coronavirus symptoms worsened, his office said in a statement.

Johnson, 55, asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab “to deputize for him where necessary,” according to a Downing Street statement.

Reads part of the statement: “Since Sunday evening, the prime minister has been under the care of doctors at St. Thomas’ Hospital, in London, after being admitted with persistent symptoms of coronavirus.”

Johnson tested positive for the respiratory illness on March 27 and become the first major world leader to publicly acknowledge having COVID-19.

His symptoms include a high temperature and a cough.

President Donald Trump said Monday he asked four drug companies to contact Johnson’s doctors to offer treatment to the prime minister, whom he called a “very good friend of mine and a friend to our nation.”

So far the world has registered more than 1,000,000 confirmed cases, more than 74, 000 Deaths while more than 2000 people have recovered.
