NICE optimistic on voter registration strategies

The mobilization and raising awareness for people to register to vote in the July 2 fresh presidential elections is progressing very well.

This has been revealed by the National Initiative for civic education NICE.

Executive Director for NICE Trust Ollen Mwalubunju told YFM that the utilization of loud hearers, night criers, community radios and social media has been very helpful in this exercise.

“We have been unable to use the old strategies to reach out to registrants because we are following Covid-19 guidelines set by government.

“Regardless of that, we are still wooing would be registrants using the strategies that do not involve many people.”

Meanwhile, NICE says it will continue to work in collaboration with Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) in such pertinent electoral processes.
