MEHA calls for long term cholera prevention plans

By Chifundo Masanche

Malawi Health Association (MEHA) has appealed to government to consider putting long term solutions to the current cholera outbreak.

According to a detailed statement from MEHA on the current cholera outbreak, government should provide sustainable water resources and also encourage community members to own and use toilets.

MEHA has also asked government to also equip districts with emergency supplies to be able to respond quickly to the cases to prevent deaths and further spread.

22 districts have been affected since the confirmation of the first cholera case.
