A 40-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly impregnating his 16-year-old daughter in Phalombe.

Phalombe police publicist, Innocent Moses told YFM that the suspect has been sleeping with his daughter several times in the month of October last year until the victim’s brother reported the incident to the police.

“We always expect fathers to protect their daughters from harms. However, to our dismay a certain man in Phalombe has been defiling his 16-year-old daughter to an extend of impregnating her,” he said.

Moses added that by the time the victim’s brother was reporting the case to Migowi police unit, the suspect had already fled away.

He said the manhunt by the law enforcers led to the arrest of the suspect on January 16 this year.

The suspect is still in the custody and he will appear in court soon to answer the charge of incest after completion of police investigations.

The suspect hails from Mphepo village, traditional authority Kaduya in Phalombe district.
