Slain MDF soldier’s body arrives tomorrow

The remains of Malawi Defence Force (MDF) soldier late Lance Corporal Chitenji Kamanga who was killed while on peacekeeping mission in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) will arrive in Malawi tomorrow May 22, 2021.
Kamanga was killed on May 10, 2021 when insurgents attacked one of Malawi contingent’s base.
A statement issued by MDF Acting Public Information Officer Major Emmanuel Kelvin Mlelemba said the plane carrying the remains of the fallen peacekeeper is expected to land at Kamuzu International Airport at around 12:40 hours.
The remains will be laid to rest on Sunday at Chamande Village, Traditional Authority Mwambo in Zomba.
