Stormy rains disrupt MSCE exams in Lilongwe

The Malawi National Examinations Board (Maneb) says it will administer deferred Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) English paper 1 examinations to 171 candidates following the disruption of the examinations by stormy rains at Chadza 1 and Ching’ombe Community Day Secondary Schools in Lilongwe.

A press statement issued by Maneb Executive Director Professor Dorothy Nampota says the candidates had their scripts completely soaked by rains and three candidates sustained minor injuries.

Nampota says the injured candidates were treated as outpatients at Nathenje Health Centre in Lilongwe.

The board says it will administer the deferred examinations to the affected candidates on a day that will be communicated in due course.

“Arrangements have been made to relocate the candidates to the nearest available facilities where they will continue writing the remaining examinations as well as the deferred English paper 1 examinations,” the statement reads.
