By Chifundo Masanche

Malawi Airlines Limited employees have downed tools in a bid to force management to increase their salaries.

But Chief Executive Officer Tadese Laeke has asked the employees to be patient as management is still looking into how to address the issue.

According to Laeke, they are currently negotiating with the employees to reach an agreement as the company is still facing financial challenges mostly due to COVID-19 pandemic.

However, Laeke said the strike has not disturbed their operations as some employees are operating normally.
