Police are yet to institute an investigation into the viral video clip showing four ladies assaulting a man.

Deputy spokesperson for the Malawi Police Service, Harry Namwaza told YFM Online, they have no information of where the incident took place.

Namwaza called on the general public to provide relevant information to the law enforcers so that the matter can be investigated.

The viral video clip has attracted a debate where among others, some are asking the police to arrest the culprits saying that could have been the same case if the incident happened to a woman.

Earlier this week, Gender Justice Clinic, a department under the Faculty of Law in the University of Malawi (UNIMA) asked law enforcers to arrest the four ladies.

“This is an act of gender based violence and immediate action needs to be taken to bring the perpetrators to justiceā€ leads part of the letter,” reads the statement in part.
