Police in Nkhotakota have arrested Dickson Kachikuni, 32, for allegedly murdering his wife.

Spokesperson for Nkhunga police station, Andrew Kamanga, said reports indicate that the couple had misunderstanding on suspicion of extra marital affair.

According to Kamanga on January 1, 2024, the suspect came back home in the morning hours while drunk and found his wife asleep. He then went out to get a stone and hit his wife in the head.

When neighbors heard a loud cry, they rushed to the scene only to find the wife in a pool of blood.

Kachikuni is in police custody pending trial on murder charges.
