Youth challenged to venture into entrepreneurship

Young people have been challenged to seriously venture into various entrepreneurial activities if Malawi is to realise her aspirations under the Malawi 2063.  

Director for My Community My Responsibility Organisation (MCMRO) Brian Khembo told YFM that it is only productive youth who are willing to bring much needed change in the country`s economic sector that can transform the nation.

Khembo said: “MCMRO is dedicated to working with vulnerable groups, such as the youth, women, and the elderly, across various sectors including agriculture and food security, economic and social empowerment, education and skill development, environmental conservation, health and sanitation, and human rights.

“We firmly believe in the potential of these communities to create lasting change and contribute to the development of our nation.”

The MCMRO director, who speaking upon completing a fundraising walk from Dedza to Lilongwe aiming at soliciting funds for the upcoming youth empowerment entrepreneurship seminar scheduled for Saturday, said entrepreneurship has proven to be effective way.

He added that the conference will converge aspiring young entrepreneurs, who will be drilled in various entrepreneurial ventures.

“This seminar will bring together aspiring young entrepreneurs, providing them with valuable insights, skills, and networking opportunities necessary for success in their respective fields.

“By supporting our cause, you are not only investing in the future of our youth but also contributing to the overall socio-economic development of our district,” Khembo said.

Currently, the local charity organisation is running an enterprise dubbed “The Pass on Imitative”.

Through the initiative, young people with vibrant entrepreneurial ideas are given a collateral free K100, 000 start-up loan to venture into business.
