Flames to burn Lesotho

All is set for the international friendly match involving the Malawi National football team, the Flames and Lesotho at Bingu National Stadium on Saturday.

Both camps, through their officials, have expressed optimism to showcase superb soccer.

Flames team manager, James Sangala, said the morale in the camp is high.

“The preparations are good despite registering some injuries. We might lose the services of Gabadinho Mhango, Stanly Sanudi, Precious Sambani, Gomezgani Chirwa and Charles Thom.

“But the coming in of senior players who have been absent for the national duties has boosted the hard working spirit among the players,” said Sangala.

Notable old faces recalled in flames camp includes; Atusaye Nyondo, Chawanangwa Kawonga, Schumacher Kuwali, Chiukepo Msowoya and Robin Ngalande.

Coach for Lesotho, Moses Moliehi, said he is confident with his team which he said is a brand which he started recruiting at the under 20 stage.

“I know it’s going to be a tough game. I remember playing Malawi in COSAFA cup when we beat them 1-0.

“But today Malawi is known to be playing a good football and we are also playing the same football a development which will make this game more interesting,” said Moliehi.

From 1971-2016 the two teams have played each other 18 times and Malawi has won 12 games, lose 3 times and drawn thrice.
