Govt recruits over 1,000 secondary school teachers

The Ministry of Education has employed over 1,000 secondary school teachers, the first of its kind in the country.

According to a press statement released on March 28, signed by Secretary of Education Chikondano Mussa, the total number of teachers recruited and promoted teachers is 2,599.

According to Mussa, the recruited and promoted teachers in the disciplines of sciences, languages, humanities, technical education and special needs education.

Mussa said the recruitment is under the ongoing efforts to improve quality of education service delivery in the country.

Government has since assured the nation that it will prolong in reducing the current high Student-Teacher ratio to ensure that there is quality education across all education subsectors.

According to the statement, the names of successful teachers have already been sent to all six Education Division offices where the candidates can access the results.
